Photography Basics:  Best Practices for the Amateur Photographer

As marketers, we all need quality photography, whether for headshots or projects. Join award-winning photographer, Adam Kilbourne, FSMPS, CPSM, to learn the basics skills to take usable shots for those times when you can’t hire a professional. The best part is you don’t need a big expensive camera to take great photos.  

During the first session, Adam will discuss the most important camera settings, and talk about composition for portraits and architecture. It’s not necessary, but feel free to have your own camera handy so you can follow along. Adobe Lightroom can handle 95% of your post-processing needs. We’ll go through the basics to help you get that extra bit of wow in your photos.  You can follow along with your own computer. Adam will share his favorite resources that have helped him improve his photography skills over the years. 

Hands-on Workshop:  Photo Processing & Editing with PhotoShop and Lightroom

During the second session, you'll learn more about post-processing and editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.  Using your own computer software, you'll be able to dive into these tools more deeply with Adam's guideance. Workshop attendees will learn how to take the photography from the field to the computer and make it really shine!

Cost:

Members: $30 per person or $50 for marketing department

Non-Members: $50 per person or $75 for marketing department

Adam Kilbourne, FSMPS, CPSM

Adam Kilbourne, FSMPS, CPSM is a Principal and Executive Vice President of Business Administration at Tec Inc. Engineering & Design in Eastlake, Ohio, and has been with the firm for 20 years, where his responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day business administration.  A SMPS member since 2005, Adam received his CPSM designation in 2008, and named a Fellow in 2016. In 2015, Adam received the SMEI Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award. He received a B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1996 and attended the inaugural class of SMPS University in 2011 and Pinnacle Experience in 2017.
